First sold cheesecake!
This is a cookies-n-cream no bake cheese cake. It is one of my favorites!! I love the no bakes because they stay so light. I sent one of these into Greg's work for a cook-out they were doing and one of the guys just did not get enough so he decided he need to buy on of them. YUMMY!!

Finally a little action!!
Well after a very long dry spell I finally got a little action!! I had a lady contact me for a 3 tiered cake for a family gathering. But when she needed it i would be about 38 weeks pregnant, so I sadly had to turn that one down. I did not want to be in labor when I should have been delivering her cake leaving her high and dry. Later that night I had some one order a cookie cake for this coming weekend for a baby shower. I had never made one of those so I did a practice on today and sent it into work with my husband. It turned out really well. Everyone at my husbands work is a huge football fan so I thought i would get their goats a little bit. I am going to get a better pan to make it in and other than that I am all set for it. I will have picture posted as soon as I can of it. I also had a cheesecake ordered from me last night. I made one this past weekend for my husbands cook out at work and turns out it was a big hit. One guy asked for me to make one for him next week just because. So I guess I could say I have expanded my inventory to , cakes, cupcakes, cookie cakes, and cheese cakes, and cookies. I only do homemade no bake cheesecakes, but I guess i need to start looking into doing the baked ones also. The no-bakes are just so light and fluffy that I hate making anything but. But if I have one ordered I guess i should make it. I really am wanting some more business coming my way. So if you need any baked goods let me know!! 903-431-2003!!!

Sorry it has been so long sense I have posted anything again. Things have been really crazy. My daughter Bethany turned three on the 20th of April and this was the cake I made for her. She is head over heels for Tinkerbell. She even got to dress up as Tinker for her party. The cupcakes have gum paste flowers on them that I hand made.

First cake in while
Finally the dry spell of no cakes being baked have been broke by Katie's birthday coming up. I made this a double layer white cake with white frosting. (DUH) I decided to play with the gum paste again just to see what happened this time. I did 7 flowers of each color and just started placing them on the cake. I was really happy with the way they came out. This just being my second time working with the gum paste I am really wanting to see what I can do with it in the future. I just need to keep practicing! P.S. you can't tell by this picture but I place the other 6 flowers around the sides of the cake.

Gum paste flowers
This was a cake for a lady that is being given a very big award for all of her mission work and work she has for for the church. It was my first attempt at making flowers using gum paste. I never thought it would be as hard as it was. It took me about 3 hours to make all the flowers and the leaves. I am very proud on how well they all turned out.

This was a cake I did for a 4 year old. He is really into cars and I thought it would be neat to make a monster truck cake so he could play with then after they were off the cake. I was really happy on how the "dirt" turned out. I used crushed oreos and also chocolate milk mix. This was a 8" round cake (double layered) then I used two cupcake tops for monster trucks to be climbing over.

These are a some of the Birthday cakes I have done. The zebra number '2' was for a little two year old girl that was having a jungle theme party. I also did 55 cupcakes to go with it. The bright colored on I did was for a 11 year old girl. She is a cousin of Greg's and it was a surprised party she had no idea that it was going on until we all jumped out and yelled! The last picture was pretty self explanatory. It was for Greg's uncle and his daughter. He started at his job around the time she was born and retired at the end of December.
Christmas cakes
Here are the three Christmas cakes I did this past Christmas. I have been having a really great time using this and that as patterns on the cakes. The one with the stocking was for a work lunch they provided for us and the other two was for Greg's Aunt Nancy. I am hoping this coming Holiday season I will have a lot more cake to do.

This was my cake I made for a friend at work for her boyfriend's brother. He owns a tow truck company and it was his birthday. I had a really hard time beating up the little cars to make it look like they really wrecked. I make the road out of black sprinkles, a girl from work gave me the idea and it look so good I thought it looked like a real road.

another practice cake
I started this cake with nothing in mind. I wanted to play with the lettering kit I just bought, and practice spreading icing on as smooth as I could. So I got the white all spread and then I had to come up with something to write on it. 'Best Friends' was all I could think of. So I did that and then I thought I would try my hand at some simple flowers. I ended up giving it to a friend of mine because we have really been eating more that our share of cakes. :)
Greg's Birthday cake
Well I would not be a good wife it I did not make my own husband a Birthday cake while I am doing all of this. So I decided to make him a cake to taketo work with him. During the week of his birthday there was a lot of extra people around his work, so I had to make him a BIG cake. I made this a double layer 12"X 18". One layer was Chocolate and the other was white. It took 4 batch of homemade frosting to cover this cake. Turns our everyone had a piece and half of the cake still came home with him. OOOppps! I think it must have weighed at least 10 pounds once it was made. We did manage to finish off the cake.

This is my first try at a blog and I am hoping it is not to boring to read. I am going to tell you about how I got started with my cakes. My husband, Greg, has a Aunt that has been doing this on the side for a while and she has decided to "retire" from making cakes. She has been so great on give me the opportunity to take over. She has been so great and supportive, she has now order cakes from me herself. I was so shocked the first one she ordered. I want to make cakes for any and every event and I am really trying to get my name out there. So if you need a cake please don't hesitate to call and order it. Thanks for all the support from all my family and friends!!
